5. The registration fee is $18 and is due to Ms. Murphy by Tuesday, September 15th!

PERCUSSION:  You will not play etudes for your first round audition.  Etudes will only be performed for the second round, should you meet or exceed the qualifying scores.  You will only be responsible for scales(mallets), rudiments (snare), tuning (timpani), and sightreading on all three instruments.  Rudiment requirements can be found in the GMEA Handbook.  This can also be accessed through the link above.  Look for it near the bottom of the page.  If you have ANY questions, please see Ms. Murphy!

Please note:  These audition requirements are NOT intended for students to work on them without assistance.  If you are not studying with a private instructor, please see Ms. Murphy either to receive help, or for private instructor recommendations.  Although the audition is in December, it is never too early to begin preparation.  DO NOT wait until the last minute to start working on your audition requirements, or to ask for assistance.  Registered students must perform their audition requirements for Ms. Murphy prior to the audition.  Students who do not perform at a satisfactory level will not be allowed to audition, and will forfeit their registration fees.  Remember that you are representing Hopewell Middle School and, most importantly, yourself.  Each student should present nothing less than his or her absolute best!
